Ed Bello will take over as CEO of Plasencia Cigars effective April 1. Bello comes to Plasencia after spending much of his career in the liquor industry, including 15 years with Diageo. Most recently, Bello was chief marketing officer of Catalyst Spirits, a start-up brand incubator.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Ed to the Plasencia business as CEO,” Nestor Andres Plasencia said in a press release. “Our family and partners have enormous confidence that he is the perfect fit to head our efforts to develop and grow our beloved brand to fulfill its potential and keep lighting up souls.”
Bello will work with outgoing CEO Jim Young during a three-month transition. Young will remain connected to Plasencia as an advisor and board member.
