Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust (DTT) is taking pre-orders for Krakatoa, the seventh addition to the brand’s Muestra de Saka line. The 6 x 48 Krakatoa parejo is packed in individual cedar coffins in a seven count box and retails at $145.25 per box. The cigars are produced at Joya de Nicaragua, S.A. in Esteli and approximately 3,000 boxes will be released on the initial drop.
The Krakatoa is composed of Nicaraguan Grown Broadleaf, Cuban Seed Criollo and a Corojo ligero tripa recipe bound with a Nicaraguan Sungrown capote and wrapped in an Ecuador Habano Seed capa leaf. It features a volcano spiral colita.
“I truly agonized over this puro’s liga and it took me well over three years to perfect,” DTT founder and master ligador Steve Saka said in a press release “Delectably sweet and spicy on the palate, it is a refined, yet an explosion of flavor that is sure to satisfy the most experienced connoisseurs.”
The deadline for pre-orders is March 24 with anticipated delivery to select purveyors in September.
